Simone Inzaghi admits he ‘got angry’ with one of his Inter players during the 3-1 victory over Cagliari, but hails Marko Arnautovic. ‘We go into the Bayern Munich tie with a lot of confidence.’
The Nerazzurri once again were dominant in the first half, leading 2-0 through a Marko Arnautovic goal and his assist for the dinked Lautaro Martinez finish.
Considering Arnautovic was close to the bench at that moment, Inzaghi grabbed him for a bear hug, while Marcus Thuram kicked the Austrian playfully up the backside.
“Arnautovic did so well, he had a great performance today. Lautaro finished it off, but Arna did most of the work on that goal with the assist,” Inzaghi told DAZN.
Inzaghi always wants more from Inter

Once more, they came out for the restart too sluggishly and allowed Roberto Piccoli a free header, but there was no comeback this time, as Yann Bisseck’s towering header sealed the 3-1 result.
“We really cared about this match and knew it would not be easy. We got distracted for their goal, but the team remained concentrated for the rest of the game. We continue this journey, it’s a struggle, but it makes us proud.
“Last season we played 49 games in total, this year we’re already on 48 and it’s only April 12. It is a very heavy season, but we must adjust and are doing so with everyone sacrificing themselves to help.”

Yet Inzaghi was also infuriated with Thuram late on for giving away the ball and sparking a Cagliari counter-attack.
“I did get angry with Marcus and I told him so at the final whistle, he should’ve dealt with that situation differently. He won’t do it again, it only takes a moment to reopen a match.”
This tops off a perfect week for Inter, who earned a 2-1 Champions League quarter-final victory away to Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening.
The second leg of that tie is at San Siro next Wednesday, but Nicola Zalewski is in doubt after hobbling off with a muscular problem.
“We go into this appointment with a lot of confidence, knowing that we are facing one of the 3-4 best teams in the world,” assured Inzaghi.
“We’ve got to replicate that first leg performance, playing with pace, aggression and organisation.”
Bayern Munich were also in action this evening, playing a 2-2 Bundesliga draw with Borussia Dortmund.
