After a dissapointing 1-1 draw in Sinsheim, VfB Stuttgart head coach Sebastian Hoeneß spoke to the media in the post-game press conference.

The 42-year-old made it clear that his players were dissatisfied with the result and highlighted the see-saw nature of the game.

“The mood in the dressing room is low, it feels like a defeat. That’s because we think we have to win the game.

“We played well, especially in the first 30 minutes. Even after the 1-0 we still had a few good chances and a few other situations that could have been dangerous.

“It was relatively similar in the second half, even though the game was more open. We had huge chances, but we failed to close it down.

“Hoffenheim then showed that they can be dangerous, they even had a tricky situation at the end. Both teams wanted to win.

“The point doesn’t feel so good, but the performance was all the better for it. That was a step in the right direction in terms of playing,” Hoeneß said.

Hoeneß and his squad must now prepare for the visit of Bayern Munich next Friday as the Swabians look to hunt down the Champions League places.
