Jadon Sancho has been left out of Manchester United‘s squad for their Premier League opener against Fulham this evening.

Sancho, 24, featured as a late substitute during United’s Community Shield defeat by Manchester City – and missed his penalty – but has been dropped altogether.

Brazilian winger Antony, who unlike Sancho did not start any of the warm-up matches this summer and missed out at Wembley, is on the bench instead.

United boss Erik ten Hag revealed he had ‘drawn a line’ under his public falling out with the forward after his return to first-team training in July.

Ten Hag had banished Sancho in September 2023 following a loss to Arsenal but extended an olive branch last month after discussions between the two men.

However, his future once again looks to be in doubt with rumours surrounding a potential departure persisting. Indeed, as reported by Mail Sport, PSG were in talks over a deal worth £51million – but negotiations look to have stalled.

Chelsea were also linked with a shock swoop earlier this week.

After spending months in exile at United, Sancho, who hit out at boss Ten Hag on social media over claims he had not trained well enough to play against Arsenal, spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund.

Having impressed once again in Germany, the winger re-joined the ranks at Old Trafford with Ten Hag determined to put their row behind them.

‘We spoke well,’ Ten Hag told AD Sportwereld last month. ‘Everyone can make a mistake. If the player reflects on this well, you draw a line and move on.

‘This club needs good players, and one thing is certain: Jadon Sancho is a very good player. I hope that we will still click and that he will contribute to our success.’

New signing Noussair Mazraoui has been handed a start against Fulham while fellow arrival Matthijs de Ligt has been named among the substitutes.

Marcus Rashford and Amad Diallo will line up on United’s flanks with captain Bruno Fernandes deployed as false 9 and filling in for the injured Rasmus Hojlund.
