Jamie Redknapp tears into ‘HORRENDOUS’ Spurs after 4-1 thrashing by Arsenal as he delivers verdict on their survival chances

Jamie Redknapp laid into his former club Tottenham after Sunday’s damaging North London derby defeat by Arsenal, describing them as a ‘team devoid of personality’.

Sky Sports pundit Redknapp, who made 49 appearances for Spurs between 2002 and 2005 and was appointed captain by Glenn Hoddle, was asked by presenter Kelly Cates whether the club are now in real trouble after Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres scored two goals each in a 4-1 drubbing to keep Spurs just four points above the drop zone.

And Redknapp said: ‘Of course they are, they’ve not won a game in 2026. They’ve been horrendous. It’s a team devoid of personality, they’ve had a personality bypass.’

Spurs’s last league win was December 28, and they have picked up just four points from the nine matches since.

It is their second awful Premier League campaign on the spin, having finished 17th under Ange Postecoglou last season. Then though, they were never truly in danger of the drop with the bottom three cut adrift, and they finished 13 points clear of 18th-placed Leicester and won the Europa League.

This season is a different story, and they have 11 league games left, starting with Fulham away next Sunday. And interim boss Igor Tudor knows he must balance their bid for survival with a Champions League campaign.

‘Yes they’ve got injuries, but he’s come in today to change and go man to man – that didn’t work,’ added Redknapp.

‘Do I think they’re going to stay up? Yes, but what am I basing it on? Absolutely nothing. I’m not basing it on any facts, I just feel probably because it’s Tottenham they’ll stay up.

‘But they’ve got to show character. He needs to find results quickly because they’ve obviously in a really bad way. But I do think they will find something and just keep themselves up. But it can’t carry on every year, this.’
