Jarrod Bowen has revealed the heartwarming way that he will celebrate reaching 20 goals for West Ham this season, and it involves his former side Hereford FC.

The England international has been in fine form for the Irons this season and has 20 goals in all competitions, 16 coming in the Premier League.

His meteoric rise has been one of the feel good stories in England, having come through the academy at boyhood club Hereford before moving to Hull City in 2014.

From here, Bowen showed his class in the Championship and earned a Premier League move to West Ham, where he’s continued to impress.

After netting his 20th goal of the season, Bowen has revealed that he will pay tribute to his roots as he celebrates the landmark.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, user Rob Pritchard revealed that he asked the former Hereford man about his plans to celebrate hitting 20 goals this season.

Bowen replied: ‘I’m going to go home and play as Hereford on Championship Manager 2008!’

The West Ham winger, who has amassed a small fortune as the Irons’ main man, then revealed that he grabbed himself a bargain with the game.

‘I bought it for 50p and am going to load it up on my computer!’ he said.

This left some fans confused, as one asked: ‘What computer has he got? Most of the new ones don’t have a CD/DVD drive!’

The forward most likely picked up his copy on Steam, although it is currently priced at £3.99, so you’d have to pay a bit more than the West Ham star if you want to follow in his footsteps.

Bowen will be kicking off in League Two as he ventures back to 2008 with his former side.

He’ll be hoping that he can replicate their achievement in real life as he takes on Graham Turner’s job in the season that they gained promotion to League One.

Just two years into their return to the Football League, they secured third place and promotion to League One.

He’ll have Theo Robinson to rely on, who scored 13 goals in the league that season, while Robbie Threlfall was on loan from Liverpool in the same season.

Unfortunately for Bowen, he won’t be in the game as the age of 12, but he could look to add himself as a regen if he wanted to fire his team to glory.
