After succumbing to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Borussia Dortmund this afternoon, Borussia Monchengladbach defender Joe Scally spoke to the Bundesliga’s official channel at full-time.

Despite the loss, the American full-back was proud of his team’s performance and shared his thoughts on where the game went wrong for Die Fohlen.

“We gave the ball away too easily [to Dortmund]. When you play against such a good team they are going to counter and score very easily and that’s what they did.

“I think we lacked a little bit of killer instinct in front of goal. It was the same last weekend [against SC Freiburg]. We need to fix our killer instinct in front of the next

“That’s something we need to work on, as well as our one-on-one dribbling which leads to goals. I think that’s something we lacked this afternoon.

With regards to Gladbach’s ambitions for European football, Scally signed off by saying “we will take it game by game and see where we end up”.
