It was recently reported that Joshua Kimmich is set to miss Bayern Munich’s first Bundesliga game of the year against VfL Wolfsburg on Sunday due to an ankle injury.
Now, Kicker reports that the Germany captain is also likely to sit out of the following midweek clash with 1. FC Köln.
Speaking on Tuesday, Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl emphasised that the club does not want to rush the 30-year-old back into action.
“It won’t be a very long story, but it could still take a few more days,” Eberl said regarding Kimmich’s return.
Kimmich also missed Bayern’s final match before the winter break – a 4-0 victory over 1. FC Heidenheim – due to the same injury.
