Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool

In a shocking revelation, Italian newspaper La Stampa has reported that Jurgen Klopp has accepted an offer from Roma and is set to become their new head coach.

According to the Turin-based outlet, the former Liverpool manager had already reached a verbal agreement with another club poised for a change in ownership, but ultimately changed his mind and opted for the Roma job instead.

Italian report claims Klopp to Roma is a done deal

The report claims that his final decision came just minutes after the final whistle of the Giallorossi’s last Serie A match against Milan, when a packed Stadio Olimpico paid tribute to Claudio Ranieri, who is set to depart at the end of the season.

The newspaper’s claims follow a video posted by the Friedkin Group on their social media accounts, celebrating Roma and its legacy.

While emphasising the club’s bond with the Italian capital, the video features a sequence of iconic city landmarks shown in a specific order that has sparked speculation about Klopp. The initials of the monuments spell out the German coach’s name: Coliseum (Kolosseum in German), Lupa (the she-wolf), Olimpico, Saint Peter’s Basilica, and the Pantheon.

La Stampa also reported that Klopp has already informed the club of the reinforcements he expects in the transfer market, requesting at least six signings—three starters and three back-ups—to strengthen the squad in the centre-back, right-wing, and centre-forward positions.
