RB Leipzig are said to be eyeing a move for Liverpool’s Harvey Elliot – and former Reds manager Jürgen Klopp may be instrumental in making it happen.
With Xavi Simons looking likely to leave RB Leipzig for Chelsea this summer, the Bundesliga side are eyeing Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott as a potential replacement.
According to Bild’s head of football, Christian Falk, former Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp could play a pivotal role in Leipzig’s pursuit of the 22-year-old attacking midfielder.
Now serving as Red Bull’s global head of football, Klopp could draw on his close ties with Elliott to help orchestrate the move to Leipzig.
“He is Leipzig’s secret weapon and is expected to persuade Elliott to join the project,” Falk told CaughtOffside.
Leipzig are said to be demanding between €60-70 million for Simons, and a large portion of that fee could be reinvested in Elliott.
Liverpool are said to value the midfielder at around €58 million.
