A documentary covering the end of Jurgen Klopp‘s reign at Liverpool is reportedly in the works.

Klopp shocked the football world on Friday by announcing that his nine-year stint on Merseyside will come to an end at the end of the season.

The 56-year-old explained that an accumulation of fatigue from the stresses of management has taken its toll, and that he is no longer the right person to lead the club forward.

Despite Liverpool enjoying a five-point lead at the top of the Premier League Klopp was insistent that, regardless of the outcome of this season, he will not renege on his decision.

According to a report from the Mirror, the dramatic final months of his time in charge will be chronicled in a TV documentary.

The report claims cameras have been granted behind-the-scenes access at the club, with a source telling the publication that Klopp had previously veteod proposals for similar projects at the club.

Being: Liverpool, a fly on the wall style documentary was filmed at the club in 2012 during Brendan Rodgers’ time at the club received a decidedly mixed reaction, with former Reds defender calling it ‘American schmalz’ on release.

However, Amazon’s All or Nothing series that has chronicled the likes of Spurs and Arsenal has been praised for allowing fans to get a never-before-seen look at the inner workings of a football club.

Klopp will be hoping the documentary can capture his second league title win in what he promises will be his final season in English football.

To do so however, the Reds must hold off defending champions Man City.

Pep Guardiola’s side remain in contention to repeat their treble heroics from last season, and the two side’s will meet at Anfield on March 9.

On Klopp’s departure, the City boss said on Friday: ‘I will sleep better. The days before we played against Liverpool were almost a nightmare.

‘Of course I will miss him. It was a shock, like it was for everyone.

‘We will lose something. We cannot define our period here without him, without Liverpool. It’s impossible.

‘He has been the best rival I have ever had in my life. In Dortmund when I was in Bayern, then here. I think the Premier League are going to miss him, the charisma, the personality and especially the way his teams play. Of course I wish him all the best.
