Juventus fans continued their protest against the players and coach Thiago Motta with a series of insulting banners ahead of tonight’s game with Verona.

It kicks off at the Allianz Juventus Stadium in Turin at 19.45 GMT.

The ultras staged a protest outside the team hotel last night where the squad was staying in a training retreat to prepare for the match.

It remains to be seen what the atmosphere will be like inside the arena when the players take to the field.

In the meantime, more huge banners were pinned up outside the gates aiming insults at the players and coach Thiago Motta.

“Seeking men worthy of this jersey. Until then, you should play in yellow,” read one.

“You are all passing through. We are the history of Calcio,” was another.

Juve have the opportunity with a victory against Verona to consolidate fourth place in Serie A and move to within just six points of leaders Inter.

However, they were eliminated from the Champions League play-offs by PSV Eindhoven, then on Wednesday crashed out of the Coppa Italia quarter-final to minnows Empoli on penalties.
