Juventus are open to parting ways with American midfielder Weston McKennie this summer, reports from Italy claim, after talks over a contract extension stalled due to excessive agent commissions.

According to reports from Tuttosport this morning, via TMW, the US international’s future with the Bianconeri appears to be hanging in the balance and the club could be prepared to accept an offer in the region of €15-20 million.

McKennie future at Juventus in doubt

Just a few months ago, it appeared as though McKennie would be given a new deal by Juventus. Talks were progressing well and the reports suggest that the proposal, worth around €3 million per season until 2028, was viewed positively by the player and his representatives.

However, Tuttosport suggest that excessive commissions requested by his agents but talks on hold.

Things changed again when Cristiano Giuntoli left his role as sporting director, with all current offers being taken off the table. New Juventus GM Damien Comolli will attempt to take the reins but once again the reports indicate that agent commissions remain a major stumbling block.

There is interest from across Europe for McKennie who, as it stands, would be eligible to leave the club on a free next summer when his current contract expires.
