Katic diagnosed with concussion after eventful debut

Only few players would get an action-packed debut for their new clubs like Nikola Katic experienced for Schalke last night. The 28-year-old center-back was involved in the key moments of the game against Hertha Berlin.

The Bosnian scored Schalke’s second goal in the first-half. The visitors pushed for a late equalizer after reducing the deficit in the 89th minute. Katic, then, saw a second booking in the 98th-minute with a memorable incident in the opening match of the new 2. Bundesliga season.

Schalke now announced Katic has been diagnosed with a concussion. They’re following the protocol as he’ll not participate in training sessions until further notice. Nonetheless, he’s suspended for next weekend’s game away at Kaiserslautern.
