Kepa Arrizabalaga joins Bournemouth on season-long loan from Chelsea after spending last term at Real Madrid… as the £71m signing looks to get regular football with the Cherries

Bournemouth have announced the loan signing of Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The Spaniard, who joined the club for £71m in 2018 – the world record price for a goalkeeper – has been out-of-favour at the Blues over the past few seasons.

He spent last season loan at the Santiago Bernabeu with Real Madrid, where he won both LaLiga and the Champions.

For the 2024-25 campaign, he will spend it at the Vitality Stadium after agreeing to join Bournemouth on a season-long loan.

AFC Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake said: ‘We are delighted to bring a player of Kepa’s calibre to AFC Bournemouth.

‘We were aware of his availability and were keen to take the opportunity to bring him to the club on loan.

We believe he will be an exciting addition to our talented goalkeeping department.’
