Kevin De Bruyne contract offer on the way just days after Man City announcement

Kevin De Bruyne confirmed he would be leaving the club this summer after 10 incredible years at the Etihad and he has already been given an option for his next chapter, with David Beckham’s Inter Miami keen on a move

Kevin de Bruyne has interest from Inter Miami this summer after revealing he will leave Manchester City

Kevin De Bruyne is wanted by David Beckham‘s Inter Miami side when he leaves Manchester City this summer. Inter Miami will step up their bid to bring De Bruyne to the MLS after the City legend announced he is leaving after a decade of unprecedented success at the Etihad.

De Bruyne, out of contract at the end of this season, became a free agent at the start of 2025, and confirmed last Friday that this is his last campaign with City.

Inter Miami have been keeping close tabs on De Bruyne’s situation and it is understood Beckham and his fellow club bosses are ready to offer the 33-year-old a deal.

Landing a player of De Bruyne’s status would be a huge coup for Inter Miami and the MLS in general, but Beckham’s team face strong competition from the Saudi Pro League.

De Bruyne considered leaving City last summer, following strong interest from a number of clubs in Saudi Arabia, but chose to stay put and see out the final year of his deal.

It is understood relocating to the United States – and Miami in particular – is a big pull for De Bruyne and his young family, more so than Saudi Arabia.

But the Belgium International knows he could secure a far more lucrative deal if he chose to go to Saudi instead – where he could command a salary of around £400,000-a-week. De Bruyne will turn 34 in June and knows his next move after City could prove to be the last of his long and glittering career.

City have already discussed building a statue of De Bruyne outside the Etihad, as a lasting tribute to his remarkable contribution to the club’s recent era of success.

De Bruyne has won 16 trophies since joining City in 2015 and will look to finish on a high by helping Pep Guardiola’s side win the FA Cup and a Champions League place.

When asked about De Bruyne’s future, Guardiola said: “I think he has to decide, he has to talk, because now with the World Cup, it’s a new contract, legally, you know.

“If he can continue playing football in another place, it depends on the risk, playing there for the contracts, or injuries, or the future. So, honestly, I don’t know. I think the club has to talk to him, or he has to say what he wants to do.

“Of course, it’s the first time you play this competition and at the end of the first three games, he’s still under contract. After that, if we go through, I don’t know. So I cannot answer. Kevin has to tell and after that legally can it be possible or not.”
