Kevin Trapp on defeat to Bayern: “The result is very clear”

Die Adler’s goalkeeper spoke to DAZN reporters after the game.

In the wake of a 4-0 defeat at the hands of a rampant Bayern Munich, Frankfurt’s Kevin Trapp gave a brutally honest review on Die Adler’s efforts.

“The result is very clear. Deserved, but too clear in the end. 

“Nevertheless, we played well at times. Of course, that sounds strange after a 4-0 defeat, but we were still brave and tried a lot. In the end it hurts, but not everything was bad. 

“Bayern obviously has a quality that means you can’t always defend everything. They then exploit things brutally,” Trapp said.

The German shot-stopper emphasised the quality within the Bavarians’ ranks and how that made a considerable difference to the scoreline. 

 “Of course, you can see that there is still a difference to an absolute top team that plays for the championship every year and also competes for the title in the Champions League. 

“We don’t have to beat around the bush about the fact that there is still a lot missing to be such a top team. Nevertheless, we [Frankfurt] are currently very far along [as a team too],” the 34-year-old noted. 

Dino Toppmöller’s team have to regather themselves ahead of next weekend’s clash with reigning Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen.
