Kimmich “carefully considering” Bayern future

Joshua Kimmich is putting a lot of thought into whether or not to sign a contract extension with Bayern Munich.

Contracted to Bayern Munich until the end of the season, Joshua Kimmich is currently considering whether to sign a renewal.

After a difficult season with the Bavarians under Thomas Tuchel, in which he was moved from central midfield to right-back, Kimmich is now back in the middle of the park under Vincent Kompany.

And the 29-year-old is taking both past experiences and the current situation under Kompany into account when considering his future.

“I am in dialogue with the club and that will continue. Eight or ten weeks ago the situation was different. People were saying, ‘When is Kimmich going to leave?’ Kimmich said at a press conference at the Germany camp on Wednesday.

“The decision has to be carefully considered. Of course, the past plays a role, but so does the future,” added the Germany captain.

Kimmich has been with Bayern since 2015.
