Germany captain Joshua Kimmich voiced his frustration after Germany fell 0-2 to France in the UEFA Nations League third-place match in Stuttgart.
Germany started brightly in their UEFA Nations League third-place clash against France, creating several big chances early on.
However, they failed to convert those opportunities and ultimately fell 0-2, much to the frustration of captain Joshua Kimmich.
“We had three chances in the first six minutes that could have led to goals,” Kimmich said in a post-match interview.
“The first half was good, but we missed too many chances. In the second half, we made too many mistakes. We became impatient and lost our sharpness. The French didn’t seem very motivated to win in the first half, but in the end, they still managed to get the result.
“In the second half, we gave them too many invitations to do exactly what they do best.”
The Bayern Munich midfielder also admitted that losing patience proved costly for Germany.
“We talked a lot after the first game. Today, in the first half, we showed what we’re capable of and responded well. But we just weren’t clinical enough in front of goal. Overall, we simply can’t afford to lose patience so quickly.”
