Bayern Munich honorary president Uli Hoeneß recently shared his opinion on Jürgen Klopp’s role as Red Bull’s Head of Soccer in an interview with Bild, stating that he doesn’t believe it’s the right fit for the former Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool coach.

“For me, that’s not a role that suits him. Jürgen Klopp needs to be on the football pitch. He’s not someone who travels the world giving lectures,” Hoeneß said.

“His greatest strength is his interpersonal skills and how he can motivate players. But how are you supposed to push things in Leipzig when you’re already back in Salzburg and then flying to Brazil?”

Klopp has now responded to the criticism, telling Bild that he simply disagrees.

“I have always had the utmost respect for Uli Hoeneß, and even more so for his opinion. But his opinion doesn’t always have to align with mine. And in this case, I see it a little differently …” Klopp said.
