Good news greeted Bayern Munich fans after this evening’s press conference as Vincent Kompany gave a positive update on Harry Kane.

“Harry had a good training session today, but we want to wait and see tomorrow morning how he’s come through it.

“It’s important for us he’s here and can play a role tomorrow,” he said, suggesting the striker could feature in their Champions League clash with Atalanta

Earlier on this morning, the 32-year-old was pictured smiling and partaking fully in Bayern’s final training session before flying to Bergamo.

When asked about their opponents from Italy, the Bayern coach heaped praise on Atalanta and expects a tricky test over two legs.

“We’re playing against a physically strong team. There are similarities to our game in Dortmund, playing with a back three in possession and looking for runs in behind.

“But the way Atalanta press has been impressive for several years. That’s been a big part of their success.

“They’ve got experience in Europe, they got a convincing win over an impressive Leverkusen side. They’re not an easy opponent. Nobody should underestimate them.

“Every expert knows it can be an interesting tie, but we have our strengths and are aware we’re facing an Italian team,” Kompany added.
