Bayern Munich missed the opportunity to extend their lead over Bayer Leverkusen to eight points at the top of the Bundesliga table, drawing 2-2 with Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

Although Bayern failed to win for the second game in a row after their mid-week Champions League loss to Inter, coach Vincent Kompany took away a lot of positives.

“It was a real ‘Der Klassiker’ game. In the first half, we had a lot of control and created a few big chances. Then, we conceded an unfortunate goal, and from that point, it felt like a cup game. I’d buy a ticket for a game like that,” Kompany said.

“In the end, I’m glad that we remain six points ahead of Leverkusen. Clearly, the belief is there, and the mentality is strong. Despite the setbacks, there are no negative thoughts. We keep pushing forward, we stay dangerous – and that’s something to draw strength from.”
