Kovač trusting the Bellingham process: “I really have no doubts about him”

The summer signing from Sunderland looks set to remain in Westphalia and fight for his place at BVB.

In the aftermath of Borussia Dortmund’s 1-0 win over FC Augsburg on Friday, coach Niko Kovač praised Jobe Bellingham’s efforts. 

“He’s present, has great physicality and a technical quality that he showed again here in his 30 minutes on the pitch. 

“I really have no doubts about him – in fact, quite the opposite. We’re building him up [to this level] step by step.

“In fact, it’s going even faster than I expected because the boy has so much quality,” Kovač told Sky Germany at full-time. 

The news comes as a relief to the 20-year-old after rumours circulated about a possible early departure from BVB – not any more according to Sky.
