Eintracht Frankfurt board member for sport Markus Krösche has confirmed that interim coaching duo Dennis Schmitt and Alexander Meier will remain in charge for Saturday’s Bundesliga match against Bayer Leverkusen.

“The existing coaching team will also be on the bench against Bayer Leverkusen,” Krösche told reporters following Eintracht’s 0-2 defeat to Tottenham in the Champions League on Wednesday.

According to reports, Eintracht are close to hiring Albert Riera, currently the coach of Slovenian side NK Celje, as the replacement for Dino Toppmöller, who was sacked earlier this month.

However, Krösche did not want to confirm that, but simply said:

“We are in very good talks and will announce something when there is something to announce.”
