Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams is ready to make the switch to Arsenal during the summer transfer window, according to El Nacional.
The Gunners were interested in landing the Spain international last summer, but the versatile winger preferred to stay for another 12 months.
However, he is expected to move on later this year. Arsenal are in pole position to secure his services by triggering his release clause worth 48 million pounds.
Barcelona are also long-term admirers of the Euro 2024 winner, but they are in a tough financial situation and can’t guarantee playing time from the XI too.
Williams has now decided to pursue a new challenge in the Premier League and has given green light to join Arsenal.
The Spaniard is already on more than 200,000 pounds per week at Bilbao. He could become the Gunners’ highest earner on his arrival.
Liverpool are also admirers of the attacker. A move could be considered if Mohamed Salah decides to depart on a free transfer.
