Lazio are reportedly furious with the Lega Serie A over the lack of communication for rescheduled games that is seeing them fly to and from Genoa.

The Aquile were supposed to be in action today for the Serie A Week 33 fixture against Genoa at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

All today’s sporting events were cancelled this morning when news broke that Pope Francis has died.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, the squad and coach Marco Baroni had just boarded a flight back to Rome this afternoon when they heard that the game had been rescheduled for Wednesday at 17.30 UK time.

It means they will have to fly back to Genoa on Tuesday to be ready for the match on Wednesday, then board another flight to Rome, before preparing for the next Serie A game against Parma on Saturday evening.

The Corriere dello Sport claim that the club is furious there wasn’t an earlier warning that would’ve saved them this stressful to and fro.

It also means that Gustav Isaksen will indeed sit out his Serie A ban against Genoa and not have it shuffled along for the next fixture.
