Leif Davis wanted by West Ham

Leif Davis set for Irons this summer?

The impressive form of versatile full-back Leif Davis has caught the eye of West Ham’s scouting network, as the club seek to sign a replacement to Aaron Cresswell this summer. 24-year-old Davis has impressed in Ipswich Town’s Championship promotion charge and it is understood the Hammers are willing to pay £20 million to secure the Newcastle-born player.

Leif Davis is heading into the final year of his contract at Portman Road, leaving the club uncertain where his future lies. Previously Davis spent five years at Leeds United, playing only nine times in the league, before a transfer to Ipswich followed and the promise of regular first-team football since 2022. This season, Davis has appeared 37 times in the championship, scoring two goals.

The Irons have made signing a left-back their absolute priority for the summer transfer window, and in Davis the club are confident a new player can be signed affordably.

It is currently unknown if there is competition to sign the defender, who is comfortable playing as a central defender as well as in his preferred left-back role.
