Leipzig weighing up Chukwuemeka bid as Simons nears departure, per Sky Germany

Leipzig might be about to snap up the Dortmund loanee as Xavi Simons nears the exit door.

RB Leipzig are now seriously pursuing a transfer for Carney Chukwuemeka, Sky Germany’s sources suggest.

Leipzig have already initiated talks with the 21-year-old who is allowed to leave Chelsea this summer as they look to recoup funds. 

Further steps regarding the English midfielder and Die Roten Bullen are expected today, but Borussia Dortmund are also involved. 

Leipzig have also been informed that Chelsea want to sign Xavi Simons and the Bundesliga side are prepared to sell him.

It is believed that a verbal agreement between the Netherlands attacker and the Blues is close but not 100% complete just yet.
