Ole Werner has reportedly agreed personal terms to become RB Leipzig’s new coach. However, Werder Bremen’s high transfer fee demands could see the move fall through.

Last week, Kicker reported that RB Leipzig were close to appointing Ole Werner as their new head coach, with the 37-year-old reportedly having agreed personal terms with Die Roten Bullen.

However, the German football magazine now reports that the move could collapse due to the transfer fee Werder Bremen are demanding to release the coach from his contract.

Werder dismissed Werner after he announced earlier this month that he would not extend his contract.

But since he still has one year remaining on his deal, Leipzig must reach an agreement with the Green-Whites to hire him.

Leipzig consider €2-3 million a reasonable amount, but Werder are demanding up to €6 million, according to Kicker.

The report adds that Die Roten Bullen do not want negotiations to drag on and are prepared to explore alternatives if necessary.
