Bayern Munich starlet Lennart Karl is set to make his Germany U21 debut in Friday’s European Championship qualifier against Malta.

After impressing head coach Antonio Di Salvo, the 17-year-old will feature not only against Malta, but also against Georgia on Tuesday.

“I can definitely say that Lennart will feature in both games and make his debut, as he has shown strong performances,” Di Salvo revealed at a press conference on Thursday.

“He has integrated really well, both on and off the pitch. We’ve seen what qualities he has in training.”

Despite Karl’s impressive start, Di Salvo stressed that he does not “put pressure on Lennart Karl to decide games on his own.”

“He still has a lot to learn, but that’s normal – we’re talking about a 17-year-old boy,” the coach pointed out.
