Lens and Le Havre Play to a Draw

It was a scoreless first half, but Lens generated 11 shots in total in its attempt to break the 0-0 deadlock. Le Havre also registered six total shots in the first 45 minutes as neither side found the match’s first goal.

After coming out of the dressing room for the second half, Lens did score in the 54th minute, but after a VAR review, the goal was waived off, and the match remained 0-0. Then, four minutes later, Les Sang et Or scored thanks to a goal from Przemysław Frankowski that made it 1-0.

Lens registered seven total shots in the final 45 minutes and only found the back of the net once. As for Le Havre, the visitors recorded five total shots and did score the game-tying goal courtesy of a goal from Emmanuel Sabbi in the 78th minute.

The result isn’t ideal for Franck Haise and his team as they’re falling behind in the race for a UEFA Champions League spot next season. Lens are winless in their last three matches (one draw and two losses) and trail third-place LOSC Lille by six points.

Le Havre move to 14th in the table and are two points above FC Lorient for the relegation playoff position. Lorient and FC Nantes play on Sunday, so if both teams secure wins it’s terrible news for Le Club Doyen as the relegation battle continues to intensify.
