Bayer Leverkusen and Atalanta have reportedly reached an agreement for Odilon Kossounou.
Odilon Kossounou is apparently set to leave Bayer Leverkusen just days before the transfer window closes.
According to Sky Germany, Leverkusen have agreed a deal with Atalanta that will see the centre-back move to Italy.
Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg claims that Kossounou will join Atalanta on a season-long loan for €5 million.
The deal includes an option to buy, which can turn into a purchase obligation if certain easily achievable factors are met.
Should this happen and Kossounou join Atalanta on a permanent basis, the total value of the deal would be €30 million.
If everything goes according to plan, the Ivorian defender will undergo a medical on Wednesday.
Bayer Leverkusen managing director for sport Simon Rolfes recently wouldn’t rule out a move for Kossounou.
“I can’t say,” replied the 42-year-old when asked if Kossounou could leave before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
“In principle, he’s a player in our plans. But of course it’s possible that we could make one or two changes to the squad,” Rolfes added.
