Malik Tillman is yet to be included in Bayer Leverkusen’s squad, but that could change for next weekend’s Bundesliga opener.
As part of their plan to replace Florian Wirtz, Bayer Leverkusen signed USMNT international Malik Tillman for €35 million. The midfielder has been on the sidelines since the Gold Cup final defeat to Mexico.
He hasn’t been part of their preseason fixtures. The 23-year-old also missed Friday’s Pokal win over fourth-tier SG Sonnenhof Großaspach. However, Leverkusen are now planning to have him for their first Bundesliga game at home against TSG Hoffenheim.
Tillman could appear off the bench in next week’s game to start his new chapter in the Bundesliga. He only played four league games for Bayern before his move to PSV. Leverkusen gave Wirtz’s #10 to their marquee signing.
