Die Werkself are believed to have issued two bids for the Man City talent.

As revealed by Fabrizio Romano, around the late June/early July, Manchester City started receiving important proposals for Nico O’Reilly.

Two of those approaches came from the Premier League, but also two official bids were submitted by Bayer Leverkusen.

Die Werkself’s new coach Erik ten Hag supposedly considered O’Reilly as the perfect signing for the present and the future.

Leverkusen put really important money on the table, but the answer they received from the Citizens was “no chance”.

City then offered him a new deal and a higher salary to keep him happy and the extension is now imminent.

Thereafter, Leverkusen progressed with the signing of Liverpool’s Jarell Quansah who arrived for €35million including bonuses.
