On Saturday night, the Bundesliga champions host Stuttgart, who are looking to secure their spot in next season’s Champions League.

Leverkusen

Leverkusen already have the title in their hands and are hoping to wrap up the season incredibly undefeated in all competitions. But, they must avoid looking ahead to their huge matchup against Roma on Thursday and focus on a well-coached Stuttgart side.

Robert Andrich and Exequiel Palacios are expected to be the midfield pair this weekend with Granit Xhaka suspended. This will be Leverkusen’s first home game since their pitch was stormed by fans in their Meisterschale win over Werder Bremen a few weeks ago.

However, it’s been assured that the playing surface is back in good condition.

Xabi Alonso said, “Stuttgart play really well, have a good trainer, players and play attractive football. We are ready for an intense game. They are flexible, good with the ball and for me, they are one of the best teams in Europe this season.”

Stuttgart

A surprise loss to Bremen last week allowed Leipzig and Dortmund to move closer to Sebastian Hoeneß’ side in the table. Stuttgart still maintain a four-point lead over RB and they could even secure Champions League football if they somehow fall out of the top four.

It’s simply been a marvelous season for VfB and their supporters, who are so deserving of a top finish after years of near disaster. Stuttgart are looking for at least a point on Matchday 31, as it doesn’t get any easier with a contest against Bayern the following week.

Waldemar Anton recently stated, “It’s always better to compete against the very best. We’ll push ourselves to the limit in training and will try to produce a top-class display in Leverkusen on Saturday.”

Team News

Angelo Stiller is suspended, meaning Enzo Millot will play alongside Atakan Karazor in midfield. Dan-Axel Zagadou, Niko Nartey, Josha Vagnoman, Li Egloff and Roberto Massimo are out, while Anthony Rouault will likely be available.
