Jurgen Klopp admitted that the feeling was ‘exceptional’ after Liverpool came from behind and pulled off a stunning late comeback against Fulham to maintain their 100 per cent record at Anfield this season.
‘At 3-3, everyone could see that the boys wanted more and because we were a bit lucky today, we got it,’ said Klopp. ‘It was an outstanding experience for everyone who was here. I don’t think anyone would have thought before the game that Liverpool versus Fulham will be a game that you will never forget in your life but you are all welcome,’ the Liverpool boss added.
Fulham came from behind twice in the first-half to go into the break at 2-2 and Marco Silva’s men were on course for a surprise victory when Bobby De Cordova-Reid scored in the 80th minute. But Wataru Endu and Trent Alexander-Arnold scored twice in two minutes to take Liverpool two points behind league leaders Arsenal.
‘I saw a few games, but I never saw a game with this amount of wordies, said Klopp. ‘Trent’s free-kick was unbelievable. Macca (Mac Allister) before the game, you could see his foot is right today. He was really in the shooting… I thought, ‘Wow, you should better try it!’ and he obviously thought the same. Wataru (Endo) was so important. he came on and that was really good. Won decisive challenges, super passing and a top goal. And then Trent. Honestly, for whatever reason, I didn’t see that ball go in, I was probably turning at that moment. I haven’t watched it back, but all of them were pretty special, Klopp added.
And the German was full of praise for Alexander-Arnold after his vice-captain scored a late winner.

‘He was a real leader on the pitch – that was the most important. That’s probably the biggest improvement (since last season). It was super intense but he got another push when we put him a bit more inside in that moment,’ said Klopp.
Liverpool’s win was slightly dampened by Joel Matip’s knee injury. The centre-half has been in every matchday squad so far this season but Klopp confirmed that Matip’s injury would ‘not be a short one.’
Fulham boss Marco Silva insisted that his side did not deserve to lose.
‘We deserved much more from the game than what we take,’ said Silva. ‘To come to Anfield and play the way we did, to equalise twice and then score a great team goal and be leading is not easy but we did it. The way they scored the world-class goals with the free-kick and the great hit from Mac Allister – it’s not easy to do something against these types of situations.’
