Juventus are thinking about launching a bid for Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker as the Old Lady looks to upgrade between the sticks, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Michele Di Gregorio has made too many mistakes for the club’s liking, while Mattia Perin may seek more minutes elsewhere and Carlo Pinsoglio considers retirement.

The departure of three goalkeepers would see a complete overhaul at the position for the Italian giants, who currently sit in fifth place in Serie A.

Selling Alisson would likely see Liverpool pivot to 25-year-old Giorgi Mamardashvili, who signed for €30 million from Valencia in 2024 with a view toward becoming the long-term replacement for 33-year-old Alisson.

The Reds have also been linked to Konstantinos Tzolakis by TeamTalk. The Olympiacos goalkeeper has 14 clean sheets in 22 Greek Super League appearances this season.

Juve is also said to be considering Tottenham Hotspur’s Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario as an option.

Liverpool’s changing of the guard in goal

Liverpool’s signing of Mamardashvili was seen at the time as the club preparing for Alisson’s eventual departure, and they could add Tzolakis to create a quality goalkeeper tandem as Manchester City have done with starter Gianluigi Donnarumma and backup James Trafford.

Alisson has a €16.6 million Estimated Transfer Value (ETV), which is €0.9 million more than Tzolakis’s ETV of €15.7 million. The Greek ‘keeper is 10 years younger than the Brazilian and also has Serie A and other Premier League clubs after his signature, which could see the Merseyside clubs in a bidding war for the player.

Tzolakis has only conceded 10 goals this season, meaning he has more clean sheets than goals against.

Olympiacos currently sit second in the Super League, two points behind leaders AEK Athens, but their 10 goals conceded are the fewest in the league.

Alisson, meanwhile, has conceded 25 goals in 22 appearances while keeping eight clean sheets. Of course, the Premier League is a higher-quality competition than the Greek Super League and Liverpool has had its defensive woes, but Tzolakis’s performances have been strong enough to put him on the radar of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
