Liverpool have deleted footage of summer signing Rio Ngumoha in first-team training due to his immense performances against the club’s biggest stars.

The 16-year-old moved to Anfield in a controversial transfer from Chelsea, with the Blues angered by his decision to leave west London for a Premier League rival.

Ngumoha was reportedly dissatisfied with Chelsea’s first-team pathway and he opted to leave the Stamford Bridge outfit in order to join Liverpool.

Since his move to Merseyside, Ngumoha has caught the eye in Liverpool’s U18 side and he has been regularly involved in first-team training sessions since the October international break.

Arne Slot’s coaching staff have been “mesmerised” by his performances in these sessions, as per Anfield Watch, and they are extremely excited by his talent.

The report also states that “Ngumoha regularly terrorises first team players in training and the club has had to delete and edit out footage of his performances from the Inside Training video series in a bid to contain the hype surrounding the 16-year-old.”

Ngumoha has registered three assists in 10 appearances across the U18 Premier League and the UEFA Youth League so far this season, although he is yet to score his first goal for Liverpool.

Furthermore, while the 16-year-old is now a regular in first-team training, he hasn’t featured for Liverpool’s U21 side and that will be the next step in his development, rather than an immediate jump up to Slot’s senior team.

Ngumoha trained with Chelsea’s first-team at the age of 15 last campaign and despite the fact he was extremely well-regarded within the Blues youth set-up, the young Englishman decided against signing a new contract in west London this summer.

Liverpool agreed a deal for the 16-year-old in July, although it was only officially announced in September as the Reds needed approval from the Premier League.
