Liverpool supporters have demanded the club’s owners do everything in their power to convince Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold to sign new contracts after erecting a banner at Anfield before kick-off against Manchester United.

The trio have starred during Liverpool’s rise to the top of the Premier League standings as Arne Slot attempts to lead the club to a magical top-flight title during his first season at the club.

However, there is growing concern that this will be their final season at the club with each star entering the final few months of their respective contracts and extensions are yet to be agreed.

Notably, Salah has recently declared he expects to leave Liverpool at the end of the season with ‘no progress’ made on a contract extension.

Salah, 32, is the top-flight’s leading scorer with 17 goals this campaign but after entering the final six months of his lucrative deal, his future remains uncertain.

He is now able to sign a pre-contract agreement to join a foreign club in the summer as is the same with both Alexander-Arnold –who is wanted by Real Madrid – and club captain Van Dijk.

Many Liverpool supporters believe the trio are refusing to extend their stay at Anfield because of the improved salaries they are being offered and a banner has told owners FSG to ‘cough up’.

A banner erected in the Anfield crowd on Sunday afternoon showed the faces of the three players alongside the caption: ‘FSG Give Mo & Co their dough’.

Liverpool fans reacting to the banner online praised those inside the ground for taking a stand against the club’s ownership with one post on X stating: ‘Fans making it clear—pay Salah and the team what they deserve.’

Another similarly added: ‘Fans are making their voices heard in the Kop… The message is clear: FSG, give Mo and the team what they deserve.’

However, one commenter was unhappy with the demonstration, posting online: ‘Idiotic banner How do they know for instance Salah doesn’t want a 3 year deal on £1m a week!? And the other two similar.’

Meanwhile, Alexander-Arnold’s future appears under the most intense scrutiny given he is still only 26-years-old and has been raised through the club’s academy before going on to win every available honour.

Madrid, who are heavily linked with signing Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer at the end of the season, made a £20m approach for the England right-back in a bid to lure him to the Bernabeu in January — which was swiftly rejected by Liverpool.

The reigning Champions League holders have belief they will be able to secure Alexander-Arnold’s services and the Liverpool’s star’s close friendship with Jude Bellingham could help convince him.

Should Alexander-Arnold leave the club on a free at the end of the season then the England international would receive a huge signing on bonus from Madrid as a free agent.
