Liverpool have made a fresh transfer decision following their opening bid for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.
The Reds made an official £110 million offer for the Sweden international earlier today, but it was immediately rejected by the Magpies.
Liverpool did not like the nature of the rejection and the club have now decided against making a renewed approach for the 26-year-old.
The Premier League champions won’t follow up their interest unless they receive encouragement from the Magpies to make a fresh offer.
That seems unlikely to happen at the current point of time.
The Magpies want a marquee replacement signed to offload Isak. They were keen on landing Hugo Ekitike before his move to Anfield.
The club are eyeing a move for RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, but the young striker is leaning towards joining Manchester United.
Hence, there is a genuine possibility that Isak won’t be leaving, given he has three more years remaining on his contract at Newcastle.
