Things are not getting any easier for Arne Slot and Liverpool. A successful start to their Champions League campaign was confirmed with a dominant 6-0 victory over Qarabag.

Unfortunately for the Merseysiders, they will be missing even more players when Newcastle United travel to face them at Anfield this evening. Jeremie Frimpong picked up a worrying hamstring injury and will be absent against Eddie Howe’s side.

He joins the injury list with Giovanni Leoni (ACL) and Conor Bradley (knee) both ruled out, and striker Alexander Isak also unavailable. Ibrahima Konate (personal reasons) and Joe Gomez (head injury), while Curtis Jones is also battling an illness.

Speaking of the latter, Mirror Football takes a look at the latest transfer news concerning Liverpool.

Inter Milan are contemplating a surprising move for Jones. It’s been claimed by Give Me Sport the Italian heavyweights are in talks with the Reds to loan the Englishman while inserting an obligation to buy clause.

Inter are considering their options with Davide Frattesi being heavily linked with a move to Nottingham Forest. However, it’s understood by the Liverpool Echo the Merseysiders do not intend to allow any player in Slot’s squad to depart this month.

This season, Jones has made 29 appearances in all competitions, contributing one assist. He has had to be versatile this season, carrying out many different roles at central midfield and even appearing at right-back at times.

Real Madrid star linked with Liverpool

Liverpool are considering a move to sign Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga. The versatile Frenchman has been in and out of the starting eleven at the Bernebeu ever since he joined the club.

According to CaughtOffside, Camavinga has emerged on the Reds’ radar. With Liverpool’s injury issues, he would be an ideal signing as a result of his ability to play left-back as well as centre-midfield.

However, it’s also understood he could cost as much as £90m, signifying his importance to Alvaro Arbeloa’s side. Camavinga has also been linked with Arsenal in the past, but a move to north London has never looked close to fruition.

Premier League star says he wants to join Liverpool

Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Brajan Gruda has said his footballing dream is to play for Liverpool. The German U21s international has been a key player for the Seagulls this season.

He has demonstrated his potential with some great performances, particularly in Brighton’s 2-1 home victory over City at the start of the campaign, when he scored the winning goal. However, he has told Sky Germany he would love to play for the Reds at Anfield.

“My biggest dream is to play in the Champions League and be a full international. I want to play for a top club like Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, or Liverpool.”
