Liverpool OUTBID Chelsea with €100m offer for Real Madrid star

Liverpool are set to outbid Chelsea and make a €100 million January offer for Real Madrid star Aurelien Tchouameni.

That is according to Fichajes, who report that Liverpool are putting the final touches to their offer before making an official bid.

Liverpool are set to outbid Chelsea, who have been reported to be preparing an offer worth €80m for Tchouameni.

The Blues have also been linked with exchanging Tchouameni for Enzo Fernandez.

Liverpool have made the signing of a deep-lying midfielder their priority in January, having failed to sign their first target Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad this past summer.

Madrid are open to selling Tchouameni in order to fund a big summer transfer market, with huge names like Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alphonso Davies and Erling Haaland on the agenda.

Madrid also want a central midfielder with better creativity and ball-playing skills to replace Tchouameni.

Following the retirement of Toni Kroos last summer, Madrid have lacked a ball-playing central midfielder who can construct and dictate the play from deep.

Initially, Madrid had planned to sign Rodri from Man City but his ACL injury means they are now looking elsewhere.

Tchouameni, 24, moved to the Santiago Bernabeu two years ago from Monaco for €100m.

He has been linked with multiple Premier League clubs over the past few months, and Arsenal are also said to be monitoring his situation in the Spanish capital.

Tchouameni has made 102 appearances since joining Real Madrid from AS Monaco, scoring three goals and winning seven major trophies.

Liverpool are currently flying high at the top of the Premier League under new manager Arne Slot.

The Reds believe that a big summer signing could make the difference in allowing them to go all the way and win the title this season.
