Liverpool players will gather to watch Arsenal‘s clash with Crystal Palace, captain Virgil van Dijk has revealed.

Arne Slot‘s men maintained their 13-point lead over the Gunners at the top of the table with a 1-0 win over Leicester on Sunday thanks to Alexander-Arnold’s strike.

The Reds are now one win away from claiming their second Premier League title ahead of hosting Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday.

However, Liverpool can win the league if Arsenal lose to Crystal Palace at the Emirates on Wednesday night.

And Van Dijk says he and his team-mates will hold a gathering to watch the match – but expects the party to be delayed for a little longer.

‘We could be (gathering). I expect Arsenal to win at home but if it doesn’t happen, then it would be nice for us all to be together,’ the Reds skipper said.

‘However that might look, we’ll discuss in the next couple of days.’

In 2020 Liverpool players gathered similarly as they won the league after Manchester City lost at Chelsea.

Van Dijk also said that it’s beyond his ‘wildest dreams’ that Liverpool are so far ahead in the table.

He said: ‘I came in from a disappointing Euros, had two and a half weeks off, then came straight in with no preseason so everything was a bit uncertain.

‘But from day one when we started to work, the confidence grew and we saw what we are capable of and what we tried to implement under the new regime.

‘Consistency is the main thing. I think we found it from the start and I think it’s also the most difficult thing to get and keep but we did that well and if I expected us to be in this position now? No. And not because I don’t believe in the boys, but it’s more that I think to be 13 points clear at this stage of the season, I think that’s even past my wildest dreams.

‘We’ve worked so hard to be in this situation and now we have an opportunity to finish it off.’
