Sky Germany understands that RB Leipzig’s Lutsharel Geertruida and Liverpool have already reached a full agreement on a loan move.

The Bundesliga club, whom he is contracted to until 2029, are set to give the reigning Premier League champions the green light.

The search for a new right-back at Liverpool have been ongoing for weeks – now Geertruida is set to be the chosen one.

Liverpool and Sunderland – the club Geertruida is currently on loan at – are in direct contact based on Fabrizio Romano’s sources.

Geertruida, 25, initially broke onto the scene with Feyenoord before signing with Leipzig for €20million in August 2024.

In his 35 appearances across all competitions for the Saxony based club, he chipped in with a goal and an assist.
