A few years ago, Harry Kane made the decision to leave Tottenham and join Bayern Munich, where he has enjoyed great success so far.

Despite this, the 32-year-old striker has consistently been linked with a move back to England, but Germany and Bayern legend Lothar Matthäus believes he should remain in Germany.

“There is constant speculation that Kane might return to England next summer to break Alan Shearer’s Premier League goal record. However, I would recommend that he stays at Bayern,” Matthäus wrote in a column for Sky Germany.

“He has never been better anywhere else, and here he has further raised his profile. I don’t think the Shearer record is his motivation. He has already proven himself in the Premier League, so he should finish his career at Bayern.

“If he wants to earn more money later, he could move to Saudi Arabia. I believe Kane still has several top-level years ahead of him. Players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi set the example, performing at an age that Kane hasn’t even reached yet.”
