Luca Toni believes that there is only one ‘fault’ surrounding Juventus centre-forward Dusan Vlahovic, but at the same time, he feels that the Serbian should not be held individually accountable.
Vlahovic has been on impressive form in front of goal at the start of the 2025-26 campaign with four goals from his first four appearances across all competitions this term. With three of those outings coming off the bench, Vlahovic currently boasts an impressive record of a goal every 35 minutes this campaign.
Despite the fact that he had been widely expected to leave the club during the summer transfer window, Vlahovic is becoming increasingly indispensable to Bianconeri head coach Igor Tudor.
What Luca Toni said about Vlahovic’s Juventus form
Former World Cup winner Toni, who, like Vlahovic, also represented Juventus and Fiorentina during his playing days, says that there is little surprise behind the striker’s form this season. He also feels that there is only one possible criticism to be had of Vlahovic, and that one that is not the striker’s fault.
“I’m not surprised,” Toni told Tuttosport about the Serbian’s form so far this season.
“I think that the only ‘fault’ you can say about him is that he earns too much money, but that’s not his fault. If they gave him that contract, it means that Juventus thought he was worth that much money at the time.
“I think that Clahovic has less pressure now because he doesn’t always start, and they brought in new strikers. But honestly, for me his is the only pure striker they have, a real killer in the penalty area.
“It’s clear that he has to improve outside the box, but in my opinion, there are few like him in the penalty area. I’m happy he’s got off to a good start and I really like his way of approaching interviews and things like that, with a lot of humility. He’s readily available for the team and for Tudor, I think that’s a really big thing.”
