Luis Enrique responds to Kolo Muani admission: ‘It’s difficult to settle at PSG’ – Football Italia – March 7 latest

PSG coach Luis Enrique admits that he wasn’t able to help Juventus’s Randal Kolo Muani as well as he would have liked during his time in Paris, and admits that it is ‘difficult’ to settle down at the Parc Des Princes. 

Kolo Muani joined PSG in a deal worth upwards of €85m in 2023, but struggled to cement himself as a guaranteed starter, which led to his joining Juventus on a straight loan deal in January 2025 until the end of the 2024-25 season. 

In an interview with La Republicca on Friday, Kolo Muani admitted that: “A Frenchman at PSG, especially one who cost €90m, is under immense pressure, not everyone can handle it. I couldn’t. I had opportunities, and I didn’t take them. It hurts, but I’ll say it again: that’s football, I have no regrets.”

Luis Enrique has since had an opportunity to respond. Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s game between PSG and Rennes in Ligue 1, the Spaniard agreed that it is not always easy for players to find their rhythm in Paris. 

“Normally, I always say a lot of positive things about my players,” he said, reported via Gianluca Di Marzio. 

“It’s what I feel, the signals I get from them. Kolo Muani is a great player. It’s difficult to settle at Paris Saint-Germain. I only have positive words for him, even for players who I wasn’t able to help as I would have liked.”

Kolo Muani has since registered five goals and an assists from his first six outings in Serie A.

While reports suggest that Juventus are keen to keep him on board beyond the summer, they will have to renegotiate terms with PSG, as his current loan deal does not include an option to buy.
