Luke Littler gave his honest opinion on Man United, as the 17-year-old spoke ahead of their clash with Liverpool on Sunday.

United travel to Anfield to face Arne Slot‘s table topping side, and have picked up just two wins in their last eight league games.

Littler steamrolled Michael van Gerwen on Friday night to win 7-3 and become the youngest world champion in darts history.

Born in Warrington, just over a half-hour drive from Manchester, he is a life-long United fan and has often been hailed by the club amid his rise to stardom over the last year.

Speaking to BBC Sport, the Nuke revealed his pessimism regarding Sunday’s showdown, and identified what United need to improve on if they wish to get back on track.

The Red Devils languish in 14th place in the Premier League table, closer to the relegation zone than the top four.

Man United have had a nightmare season, and are just seven points clear of the relegation zone

Despite Ruben Amorim‘s mid-season appointment, no progress has been made with regards to results.

‘No idea. Well, we’ve all got an idea,’ Littler laughed, when asked what can be done to turn United’s fortunes around.

‘Just the players. There’s some players in the club [who] are getting on a bit.

‘They need to go and play somewhere else. And, obviously, we need to find the right players to fit in the squad.’

Littler did not fancy his side’s chances of snatching three points at Anfield, stating that he was content with a draw against the league leaders.

‘No idea. I’ll take a draw,’ he said, when asked what his score prediction was for Sunday’s game.
