Maignan discharged from hospital after Udinese-Milan collision

Milan can breathe a sigh of relief after learning that Mike Maignan was discharged from the hospital on Saturday morning and is now on his way back to Milan.

The French goalkeeper raised concerns about his condition following a worrying collision with his teammate Alex Jimenez, remaining motionless on the ground before being stretchered off.

Milan later confirmed that Maignan had never lost consciousness despite the dangerous head clash, but he was taken to a hospital in Udine for precautionary tests and kept under observation overnight.

The decision to monitor the head injury was purely precautionary, and all medical results came back negative, which is why he was released from the hospital this morning, as confirmed by Tuttomercatoweb.

Speaking after Milan’s 4-0 win over Udinese, coach Sergio Conceiçao praised the home fans for their ‘incredible gesture’ as they turned boos for the player into applause once they realised the seriousness of the situation.
