Mainz are on the verge of completing the transfer of Denmark U21 striker.
After qualifying for the league phase of the UEFA Conference League, Mainz 05 look to reinforce their attacking line with the transfer of William Bøving from Sturm Graz. The move also followed the news of a serious injury to Benedict Hollerbach, who earlier joined the 05ers from Union Berlin.
Fellow Bundesliga side FC Augsburg and Girona are also working on the transfer of the 22-year-old, but Mainz are leading the race. Sky report the transfer fee will be €3 million plus add-ons.
Mainz reached full agreement with the club, but discussions are still ongoing with the player. Bøving scored 11 league goals when Sturm Graz successfully defended their Bundesliga title, and he started all eight games in the league phase of the Champions League.
