‘Make Juventus Great Again’ with Mourinho, Mbappe and Zidane, says investor

The latest shareholder in the club wants to ‘Make Juventus Great Again’ and muses on who he’d like to see brought in, from Kylian Mbappé to Jose Mourinho and Zinedine Zidane.

Tether just completed the purchase of 8 per cent of Juve shares last month and their CEO, Paolo Ardoino, spoke out about his plans for revitalising the Old Lady.

He did so with an eye on an American political slogan that is sure to spark a reaction among fans.

“We want to participate in the rebirth of the club,” Ardoino told TeleLombardia television.

“My slogan is ‘Make Juventus Great Again.’ We intend to get Juve back to the glories of the past and hope to collaborate in future with the directors.

“I have been a Juventus fan since birth and as a company we invested in a football club that at this moment is undervalued, but which will give us joy.”

Juventus investor targets Mourinho and Zidane

Ardoino had some ambitious and somewhat unexpected ideas for who he would like to bring under the Bianconeri umbrella.

“I’d love Mbappé,” he smiled. “We have to invest in youth, really. Zidane and Alex Del Piero are the players I loved the most. Seeing them again within the club infrastructure at Juventus would be something to look forward to.”

Thiago Motta was fired this week to make way for Igor Tudor, a coach who is not expected to remain beyond the end of the current season.

A great deal for next term will depend on the budget, which in turn is tied to qualification for the Champions League.

“I am truly very optimistic. I hope that Juve can get into the Champions League and for next season I wouldn’t mind Mourinho as the coach,” added Ardoino.

“We are not lacking economic resources and can support the club for 2,000 years to target the Treble.”
